DECEMBER, 2005 REPORT

www.IglesiaLebanon.Homestead.com

During the months of November and December, we had over 50 meetings.  These meetings included Sunday school, Sunday morning worship, prayer meetings, Bible studies, home visitation meetings, communion services, English classes, a Thankgsgiving breakfast, a Christmas party, a leadership meeting and a women’s ministry meeting.

On the first Tuesdays in November and December, we did translation work for the Free Clinic at College Hills Church of Christ.  Many local Hispanics are now using this clinic on a regular basis to help improve the health of their families.  We have built a website showing the work done by the free clinic.  You can view this at www.LebanonFreeClinic.Homestead.com.

We have begun the English as a Second Language courses at First Baptist Church of Lebanon.  The classes take place on Tuesdays at 6:00 PM in the Christian Life Center.  We currently have 16 students and this work has grown so quickly that we have had to start a second class taught by John Duncan.

We had a Hispanic Christian Concerts at the Iglesia on Saturday November 12 and December 10.  Over 40 people were in attendance at these events. At one concert, Claudia Martinez gave her life to Christ.

We have purchased a new street sign that is now being displayed on East Main Street in front of the Iglesia. This street sign contains contact information and a schedule of services.  Alejandro Olvera drove by the church, saw our sign, and came to a Sunday service.  Within a month, this man, his wife and their two children gave their lives to Christ.  We will be having a baptism service for this family on January 15 at the Hillcrest Baptist Church.

The Thanksgiving breakfast was held at the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church of Lebanon on Saturday, November 24.  Over 70 people attended this service.

The Christmas party was held at First Baptist Church on December 25.  We had a children’s service at 5:00 PM and a puppet show was done and over 80 children’s gifts were given out.  At 6:00 PM, we had our Christmas dinner and over 160 people attended.

As this year ends, we are seeing this ministry grow from one small mission to a county wide ministry to Hispanics.  Five years ago when this mission began, there were over 2,000 Hispanics in Wilson County.  Today, there are over 7,000 and the need is growing tremendously.  Please continue to pray for this ministry!
